Why I gave up my gym treadmill and step machine work out for this workout app.
I’ve never been a gym type of person. I’ve honestly never really had to. I was always active growing up, playing softball and just in general never really sitting down.
My anxiety had a lot to do with it. So did the fact that I never watched TV or sat for longer than maybe half an hour. Just because, I didn’t. I was never the sitting and relaxing type of person. I thrive off of adventures and movements.
Well, then I had two kids. Thankfully I bounced back after the first one. The second one it took a while but no specific workout routine in place, just me never sitting. Ha. (Having a serving job helped too)
Well then I got pregnant with my third child. I lost the baby at around 12 weeks. (IDK if it was a boy or girl, because, I didn’t want to know. I thought it’d break my heart even more.)
Then my partner at the time became depressed. Long story short we ended up splitting up and going our separate ways. Who knows what will happen in the future, it was hard on both of us.
So what did I do? Nothing. Literally nothing. I, too, was depressed. I could tell because I would wake up and get my kids ready for the day and then be completely exhausted to the point where I literally had to lay down. Then I’d sleep. I could do almost nothing and end up completely exhausted and have to lay down. And what happens to a body that doesn’t move? (and likes food…)
So, I ended up gaining more weight than I even had during my pregnancies. I hated my look. The fact that I gained so much and lost my muscle mass. (If you like your look and you’re overweight or anything, that’s PERFECT! I’m not saying anything bad at all. For me, this wasn’t my ideal situation)
So, I started slow. Going to the gym, walking on the treadmill, using the step machine. Every day, for at least an hour a day. And I barely saw any results after about a month. I even switched to a vegan diet for a while and still nothing in the weight department. (Vegan diet wasn’t for me but I learned a lot about it and it can be a really good thing!!)
So, like everyone who works and works and doesn’t see results, I wanted to quit. I was breathless. Zero cardio when I used to be able to play those dance games for hours on end without breaking a sweat. Actually, I used to DANCE! Daily!
Then I found this app. There’s a free version and a paid version. I figure, meh, I might as well give the free version a try.
So I was embarrassed because it started me out as a novice. Which at that time, I was. Just didn’t want to necessarily admit it. ha!
The workouts are usually less than ten minutes. Sometimes I do two a day. My kids even love to join in!!
AND I SAW RESULTS WITHIN A WEEK!!
Seriously! After all that work and all I had to do was ten-ish minutes, 4 times a week??
SO of course I wanted to grab the paid version and get the meal plans to go along with it. Seriously changing my life!
I’m so happy right now, I wore a fitted shirt for the first time in, maybe a year!
So, if you’re looking for a great workout app join up with me at this link. I’d love to have you as a friend and cheer each other on as we move closer to our goals! (By the way, you get a free month of the PRO version when you sign up under that link!)
Never any judgement coming from me!
